International Mining Machinery Ltd. (“IMM”) was formed in 2006 to acquire Jixi Coal Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. (“Jixi Machinery”) and Jiamusi Coal Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. (“Jiamusi Machinery”). Jixi Machinery is headquartered in Jixi, Heilongjiang Province, China and is the leading manufacturer of shearers in China. The shearer is the “workhorse” of mine equipment that does the actual cutting of the coal from the coal face in underground longwall mining. Jiamusi Machinery is headquartered in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province, China and is the leading manufacturer of roadheaders in China. The roadheader is the excavating and tunneling equipment used in underground coal mining. Since the original acquisition of Jixi Machinery and Jiamusi Machinery, IMM has done 5 add-on acquisitions and joint ventures including the acquisition of a manufacturer of control systems for coal mining equipment, a joint venture to manufacture coal mining armored face conveyors, and three coal mining equipment repair center JVs.
